Dan Mailman
I am a retired Founder/CTO, computer scientist, adjunct faculty, and current PhD student at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. My research interests include machine translation, high-performance computing, and natural language processing. My other interests are camping, travel, and exploration by bicycle or small row/sail boat.
My hobby corporation, Studio MindStride, spins off ventures that produce specialized products for niche markets related to my interests. Currently, Language Genies produces global language input methods, and Gear Genies creates specialized outdoor gear.
I am developing software engineering courses to assist underserved students, particularly those in NGO refugee sites, to achieve economic parity in future careers through software-based entrepreneurship.
Another long-term research project, “Neuro-plausible Machine Translation,” aims to develop low-level, high-performance tools for complex machine translations.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss potential projects.
